Enter your sales email’s subject and body, and we’ll check that the Korean ad-disclosure tag, opt-out instructions, and sender information are there. We can’t tell from the text whether the recipient has agreed to receive it, so that isn’t checked. What you enter isn’t stored.

Why does this matter?

When sending commercial advertising emails in Korea, you must follow the points below, under Article 50 of Korea’s Network Act. Violating them can result in a fine.

First: the recipient’s prior consent — under Article 50, paragraph 1 of Korea’s Network Act, an advertising email can be sent only if the recipient agreed to it beforehand. The exception is when you received the recipient’s contact details directly through a transaction and you advertise the same kind of goods or services within 6 months after that transaction ended. This check only looks at text, so it doesn’t check consent.

The Korean ad-disclosure tag at the very start of the subject line — recipients need to know it’s an ad before they even open it.

An opt-out method — the body must tell recipients how to stop receiving future emails. This matters beyond the law, too: without one, people report the email as spam instead, and enough spam reports get sending accounts blocked.

Sender information — you must state your company name, address, and contact information. Emails whose sender can’t be verified are more likely to get flagged as spam.

Sending at night — email isn’t subject to the separate night-time consent rule (Enforcement Decree of Korea’s Network Act, Article 61(2)). The duties to get prior consent, add the Korean ad-disclosure tag and offer an opt-out still apply.
